Regarding seat sharing within the India Bloc, senior Janata Dal United leader KC Tyagi said in Delhi on Monday that JDU and RJD are in a position to take on the BJP in Bihar. He has won 16 seats and will compromise there. Tyagi told ANI that it is fine if the Congress is demanding more seats in states where they are in power. But it is impractical if they demand more seats in states where they are not in a powerful position.
JDU took a dig at Congress
KC Tyagi further said that Janata Dal-United India is the organizing organization of the block. We are distressed by the preparations of the Bharatiya Janata Party. We are also concerned about the seat-sharing strategy of India Bloc. We will figure out how to fix things as soon as possible.
Speaking on the face of the post of Prime Minister of the Grand Alliance, he said that the face behind the formation of the alliance is Nitish Kumar and this post is bigger than the Convenor. The JDU leader also took a dig at Congress and said that he was only concerned about the party. Tyagi said that Congress is free to take a decision on the convener. They are worried about their party and we are worried about the alliance. As the countdown to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections has begun, the India Bloc has started its seat-sharing talks in full swing.
He said that after Trinamool Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT), it is Janata Dal United which is adamant on its demand of 16 seats in Bihar. JDU currently has 16 seats in Bihar; BJP holds 17 and RJD does not have a single Lok Sabha seat in the state.
BJP started working on its strategies
The allocation of seats becomes important for the Congress, especially after the recent electoral setbacks. India’s political landscape is undergoing a significant change as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach. India (Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance) is gearing up to challenge the established National Democratic Alliance. The block is struggling to resolve key challenges, including finalizing seat-sharing arrangements and, most importantly, taking a decision on the PM face. Whereas BJP has started implementing the strategies made to win the general elections in 2023.
